陈彦琳，2019 年上外贤达国际课程中心优秀毕业生，现就读于伦敦大学学院（UCL）的社会学专业（Social Science and Qualitative Method）。

我相信已经有很多学长学姐写了很多关于大学生活的文章，所以在这边我也就不赘述了。我想通过别的方式让大家了解一下我的大学生活，更准确的说是在伦敦的生活。

曾经有人说过：如果有一天你厌倦了伦敦，那么你就是厌倦了生活。

伦敦有一切你能想到的或者无法想到的有趣事物，当你漫步在千禧桥，你可以看到桥两端连接的是泰特现代美术馆和圣保罗大教堂。在我的心里，这就是对伦敦最好的诠释——新与旧文化的连接和交融。

I'm sure there have been many articles written by seniors about university life, so I won't go any further about this. I try to give you my perspective into university life, or more accurately life in London, in some other way. 

Someone once said that if you ever get bored of London, then you are bored of life. 

London has everything interesting you can think of or can't think of, and when you stroll down the Millennium Bridge you can see the Tate Modern and St Paul's Cathedral connected at either end of the bridge. In my mind, this is the best interpretation of London - the connection and mingling of old and new cultures.

伦敦作为英国的首府，世界上最发达的城市之一，也是非常愿意接受新事物的城市。这是一个包容性极强的城市，每天走在路上与你擦肩而过的人会有着不同的肤色，用着不同的语言，背靠着不同的背景和文化。

你可以在伦敦市区遥望旧金融城回忆昔日的辉煌，也可以在高处眺望金丝雀码头。没有去过的，很难想象新与旧这个概念在伦敦互相交织得如此和谐。

伦敦作为英国的首府，世界上最发达的城市之一，也是非常愿意接受新事物的城市。这是一个包容性极强的城市，每天走在路上与你擦肩而过的人会有着不同的肤色，用着不同的语言，背靠着不同的背景和文化。

你可以在伦敦市区遥望旧金融城回忆昔日的辉煌，也可以在高处眺望金丝雀码头。没有去过的，很难想象新与旧这个概念在伦敦互相交织得如此和谐。

而那些旧文化对于所有人都是友好的。伦敦几乎所有的博物馆和美术馆都是免费的，收费展览价格也不是很高，六磅的价格你就可以接触到梵高，马奈，莫奈等印象派大家的名作，或者在女王的定期开放的私人画廊中接触到伦布朗，提香或者鲁本斯的真迹。

And that old culture is friendly to all. Almost all of London's museums and galleries are free, and the price of paid exhibitions is not very high - for six pounds you can get access to masterpieces by Impressionists such as Van Gogh, Manet and Monet, or to authentic works by Rembrandt, Titian or Rubens in the Queen's galleries.

让我最惊喜的还不止于此，伦敦的绿地覆盖面积为整个城市的25%。公园不设任何门槛，学习之余走进任何一个公园，都会让你的身心都放松下来。

其中最著名的就是海德公园—占地160万平方米，还有里面湖边成片的白天鹅群。很难想象在一个如此发达的城市市区中有着这样的绿色天堂。

What surprised me most was that London has 25% of the entire city covered in green space. There are no barriers to parks, and walking into any of them after studying will relax your mind and body. 

The most famous of these is Hyde Park - covering 1.6 million square meters - and its lakeside flocks of white swans. It's hard to imagine such a green heaven in such a developed urban area. 

而这些公园也是很多小动物的花园，其中我最偏爱的是白金汉宫后面的圣詹姆斯花园。任何一个季节去到这里都可以看到草坪上乱窜的小松鼠，湖边嬉戏的鸽子和小鸭。

天气好的时候甚至看到大型的粉色火烈鸟还有绿色的小鹦鹉。这里的居民都非常友好，他们甚至了解每个动物喜欢吃的食物，拿着花生喂给松鼠，带着苹果喂给小鹦鹉。

人和动物相处的如此和谐，让我想起了BBC的大量动物记录片，不经感叹这边的孩子的生活很多彩。

On a good day you may even see large pink flamingos and green parakeets. The inhabitants are so friendly that they even know what each animal likes to eat, taking peanuts to the squirrels and apples to the parakeets. 

The harmony between humans and animals reminded me of the numerous BBC animal documentaries, and I couldn't help but wonder how colorful the lives of the children here are.

作为一个学社会学的学生，在这边能接触到大量文献，学校的student center是24小时开放的。

我认为到了大学，学习并不是生活的全部，在你能完成课业的情况下，不要犯懒，要走出学校，享受生活，能看到如此多有趣并且让人感到快乐的事物，会让你的每一天都感到幸福。

希望每一个来伦敦的人，都能受益，并且尽情享受这座美好的城市。

As a sociology student, I have access to a lot of books here and the student center is open 24 hours a day. 

I think at university, life is not only about studying, you should not be lazy to go out of school and enjoy life while you finish your classes, seeing so many interesting and enjoyable things will make you feel happy every day. 

I hope that everyone who comes to London will benefit and enjoy this wonderful city to the fullest.
